Command execution errors with contextual details.

Each variant embeds Cmd (program, args, cwd) for terse diagnostics. Utf8 is currently not produced by CmdExt::exec but kept for potential future APIs.

Variants§

§

CmdFailure

Non-zero exit status; stderr captured & UTF-8 decoded.

Fields

§cmd: Cmd

Command metadata snapshot.

§stderr: String

Full (untruncated) stderr.

§stdout: String

Full (untruncated) stdout.

§status: ExitStatus

Failing status.

§

Io

I/O failure spawning or waiting.

Fields

§cmd: Cmd

Command metadata snapshot.

§source: Error

Underlying OS error.

§

Utf8

Borrowed data UTF-8 validation failed.

Fields

§cmd: Cmd

Command metadata snapshot.

§source: Utf8Error

UTF-8 error.

§

FromUtf8

Owned stderr bytes not valid UTF-8.

Fields

§cmd: Cmd

Command metadata snapshot.

§source: FromUtf8Error

Conversion error.

1.0.0 · Source§

fn description(&self) -> &str

👎Deprecated since 1.42.0: use the Display impl or to_string()
1.0.0 · Source§

fn cause(&self) -> Option<&dyn Error>

👎Deprecated since 1.33.0: replaced by Error::source, which can support downcasting
